1981 Peterson 34 OD

Just listed again (we sold it to the present owner in 1999). The finest example of the famous Peterson 34 OD.   This is hull number 92, the last one made. This boat has never been seriously raced, just used as a family daysailer and cruiser.  This is only the second  owner, and boat is ready to sail with lots of upgrades including all new sails in the last couple of years..

The previous owner is a professional cabinet maker and added many beautiful extras to the interior and exterior.  The boat has extensive, well maintained wood inside and out. It has been on Lake Michigan since new (no salt, 6 month sailing season). This Doug Peterson design handles well under any conditions and is a joy to sail.    She can easily sleep seven, so is a great boat for a couple or a family.

There is a spacious vee berth forward with storage underneath, accessible from either above or from the louvered door in the base.  There are shelves completely around for your books, glasses, etc. The vee berth also has a custom designed wood shelf over the foot of the berth, for a television or other storage. There is also access to the anchor locker in the bow. Solar vent in hatch above V-berth (new in 2001, new battery 2005, and spare). Removable custom screen and sun shade for V-berth hatch

Next aft to starboard is a cedar lined hanging locker, then a full set of built in drawers for storage. The head is to port.  The head has an electric head with holding tank, manual water, a beautiful brass porthole style mirror and beautiful woodwork.

The salon has a traditional layout with settees to both port and starboard with pilot berths behind each.  Custom built in hardware storage areas behind port and starboard seat backs.  All cushions were redone in 1991 and are still in excellent condition. There is a newly varnished teak and holly cabin sole, brass clock and barometer, cedar lined hanging locker (done in 1999), ash and teak lee boards on the pilot berths, and beautiful lathe strips along the hull side for an elegant traditional look..  There is a unique dining table arrangement with the table hanging from the salon rails with ropes.... a very "nautical" look.  Beautiful 4" x 10" deck prism lights port and starboard for an amazing amount of additional natural light in cabin

The nav station has more beautiful wood with an opening storage desk, flush mounts for the stereo and instruments.  Behind the nav station is a roomy quarter berth.  There are two convenient flexible lights, each with a dimmer for nighttime navigating.

The L-shaped galley is aft to port with  S.S. centerline sink, microwave, 2 burner alcohol stove, and a removable Engel refrigerator/freezer (new 2002) in a large icebox.  Galley also has built in liquor storage above microwave, Corian countertops, mirrored sliding doors in front of  2 large galley storage areas, storage area behind stove below countertop, 2 sliding drawers excellent for silverware and cutlery, manual fresh water and sea water pumps, mirrored sliding doors for storage, and a garbage can under the sink

Brass lights in galley, settees, quarter berth, V-berth add to the tradition nautical look.  There is a custom companionway screen.
